As we gear up for the fall, please mark the dates for the mandatory 21st Century Orientation, September 9, 2015 (New Grantees) and September 10, 2015 (All Grantees). The meeting will be held at Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center, 100 Green Meadows Drive South, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035. Please register in STARS. New grantees will need to register separately for both days.
The mandatory 21st Century Summit, “Embark on a Fantastic Voyage” is February 1-3, 2016 at the Hilton Columbus – Easton Town Center. The summit is mandatory for program managers. The first full day (February 2nd) is mandatory for treasurers. Primary partner representatives are encouraged to attend. More information will be provided at orientation next month.

ServeOhio, along with its corporate Stewards of Service, Honda of America and AEP Ohio, announce the availability of grants to support community service projects organized for Make A Difference Day on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Grant awards will range between $500 to $1,000.
How can the funding be used?
The mini-grants support projects that create or improve community assets or infrastructure such as parks, schools, senior centers, community gardens or low-income homes through community volunteer engagement. Funds may be used for:
• Equipment rental
• Food for volunteers
Who is eligible to apply?
Non-profit and public organizations in Ohio including, but not limited to, volunteer centers, school districts, community colleges, universities, and local governments are eligible to apply.

The 21st CCLC/Midwest FERP Community of Practice webinar is coming up soon. This month’s topic is Engaging Fathers, and Michael Hall from Strong Fathers-Strong Families will speak about engaging dads at the beginning of the school year.
