21st CCLC Program Shares – December 2019

Kudos to Communities in Schools and Gallia-Vinton ESC for the work they are doing for their youth and families via the 21st CCLC grant program, and the impact it is leaving on the communities served!

Please read below for more information for each grantee’s current work/accomplishments through December 2019:

Communities in Schools (Central Region) – Program Partnership Highlight

CIS Book Drive

Communities in Schools (CIS) collaborates with GEMS (Graham Elementary & Middle School) for its K-5 afterschool program. Through this collaboration, CIS was able to coordinate a partnership with Professor Deb Morbit & her Education Teaching & Learning 2189 class.  For their Equity & Diversity class, they created an action-based project of fundraising & purchasing Multicultural books for the students at GEMS.

The students of ED 2189 are paired with struggling readers enrolled in after school as Reading Buddies & also provide enriching supports throughout the program.

CIS greatly appreciates this considerate & kind donation!
