Ohio Afterschool Network (OAN) Has Exciting News to Share…the Summer Virtual Pitch Challenge is Open to All Grades!
OAN’s Pitch Challenge is open to students entering Kindergarten through those who just graduated from high school! Prizes will be awarded for Elementary, Middle and High School Categories. The prizes for each category are:
First Place – $500 Amazon Gift Card and a 1:1 consultation with an entrepreneur. The high school student who takes first place will also win a scholarship to Rev1 Ventures Customer Learning Lab, a three-day virtual boot camp designed for innovators to validate their product with the market.
Second Place – $250 Amazon Gift Card
Third Place – $100 Amazon Gift Card
The deadline to submit student videos of 30-90 seconds is July 31st, 2020.
All students are invited to compete; they are not required to be enrolled in summer programs.
Summer programs are encouraged to teach students about entrepreneurship using one or more of the many free curricula available, help them prepare and practice effective pitches, and submit their videos or assist them in submitting their videos.

Professional Learning Community for Summer Programs
The Ohio Afterschool Network and Young Entrepreneur Pitch are hosting a Professional Learning Community and will host monthly Zoom meetings for training, technical assistance, program sharing and discussion. The first Zoom meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 11:30am-12:30pm. Register for it here.

The Ohio Afterschool Network, Young Entrepreneur Institute, with assistance from the Ohio Department of Education’s Career Connections team, are hosting summer and school year Professional Learning Communities for schools and community organizations helping high school students earn OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seals using the entrepreneurship pathway.
